An enthusiastic and dynamic departmental coordinator is needed at Burke Library, Hamilton College, by the Department of Special Collections and Archives.

 Web Communication Manager

This position is for one of a two-person team for the administration of web content in the College’s Division of Communications and Marketing, which reports to the Senior Director of Visual Communication.

 

 

The responsibilities of the job are:

  • To build, refresh, and maintain web pages hosted on Hamilton.Edu.
  • Ensures adherence to site architecture and style consistency, along with regulatory compliance and brand standards.
  • The college’s bespoke CMS would be used to post images, content, and rich media.
  • Support and provision of backup coverage for the college’s social media accounts.
  • Ensure that user-centric design choices are made; also improves web engagement by recommending digital assets to be acquired.
  • Carries out a host of graphic design work, such as creating digital art, cropping photos, embedding multimedia, and other creative asset development.
  • Participates in web planning, design development, and improvement projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three-year experience in website design, development, or management.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
  • Experience planning and implementing website redesign projects.

Skills

  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS skills. Additional experience in other programming languages is preferred.
    Proficiency with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and other Adobe Creative products.

Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Hamilton College would be hiring two Assistant Professors for one-year visiting positions, starting July 1, 2022. A Ph.D. or an ABD would be required, of course.

Candidates from all fields of psychology and related sciences can apply, but the department is especially seeking those with experience in clinical psychology or neuroscience.

However, the teaching load would amount to about five courses per day, including courses such as Introductory Psychology, Statistics and Research Design, and courses in the candidate’s area of specialty.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies (Climate Change)

A Visiting Assistant Professor in the area of Climate Change is needed for the Environmental Studies program of Hamilton College.

This is a one-year leave-replacement position that commences on July 1, 2022.

The required candidate should be an expert in the following areas: climate and energy systems, carbon cycling, climate adaptation science, climate risk and resilience, global and US climate policy, climate modeling, the human dimensions of climate change, carbon accounting, climate action research, and climate justice.

Candidates with interdisciplinary expertise in multiple areas of climate change are most preferred.
